Fall Decor

Happy first day of autumn! Here in SoCal, it still feels like summer – with temps in the high 90s and sunsets closer to 8pm. But, what better way to fall into the holiday season (pun intended) then with some fall décor to bring out all the colors and vibes that are synonymous with the season. Let’s dive right in!

Scents Bring in the candles and fill your home with all of the familiar autumnal scents. Whatever reminds you of warm and cozy days by the fire, curled up with a blanket and maybe some tea or cocoa. Scents such as cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, apple, and pumpkin can stir up major fall vibes. Whether you use a candle or decide to bake some sweets using any of the above mentioned foods and spices, your home is sure to be filled with the aroma of autumn. Additionally, you can bring in pieces of pine or cedar to add another layer of fragrance to your space.

Colors We all know the typical colors for fall include warm tones of red, orange, yellow, and brown. You can absolutely stick to these palettes and incorporate some seasonal décor or pops of color in accessories to make your space feel more fall-ready. For a more bohemian vibe, pick out more jewel-toned shades; if modern is more your style, try using pastel shades. You can really customize it and stick to a monochromatic theme or incorporate shades and layers of color that work with your space.

Textures Here is where you can have some fun with your home décor. Add some texture. Bring in some leaves, or use faux ones, as decorative pieces on a mantle or table top. Bringing in earthy elements of wood and greenery in colors and scents that complement your existing décor will help to elevate your design. You can also use different materials and textiles for the same effect. Think velvet pillows, cashmere throw blankets, or ceramic bowls. Any combination of different materials layered together will create a unique look and feel to your space.

Happy decorating!
